Comparison Catchments

The CDRC data service has funding until early 2025. It has indicated its interest in applying for further funding under Phase 2 of ESRC Smart Data Research UK until at least 2029. Any Phase 2 extension will require a successful application in open competition. This means that, if not successful, the CDRC service will wind down and end on 31 January 2025. Accordingly, this will be the last possible end date for approved data applications, until further notice.

This geodata pack provides the CDRC comparison retail catchments for the year 2017 for the retail centres of Great Britain. The data represent the maximum likely catchment area for the 2017 retail centres based on their size. They were created by calculating the isochrones (based on shortest road network distance) of the comparison retail centres. The data are provided in geopackage format that is supported by open source software such as QGIS and R.
